Inside This Report
After months of speculation that NVIDIA would make the
biggest acquisition of its history, the company pulled the
trigger in mid-September to buy Arm from SoftBank. This
follows a steady flow of consolidation at the top of the
semiconductor technology market that has reshaped the
landscape through the past several years. While NVIDIA’s
acquisition of Mellanox featured some regulatory hurdles
that stretched the process to more than a year, this
potential deal will face much greater scrutiny from the
EU, U.K., and China to pass.
