The pressure points in supporting warehouse operations are clear. According to research conducted by VDC among warehouse technology investment decision makers, the top three warehouse improvement initiatives include getting orders shipped faster, improving labor optimization and improving storage utilization. The continued shift towards e-commerce is translating into ever-increasing warehouses and distribution centers – the average warehouse size has almost tripled over the last two decades – and is forcing decision makers to rethink fulfillment strategies and overall warehouse design.
