The annual Augmented World Expo (AWE) was held in Santa Clara, CA from May 30th to June 1st. There, analysts from VDC Research met with over 30 companies across the spectrum of hardware and software for virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR) technology. AR, VR, and MR have opened new capabilities across industries as diverse as manufacturing, hospitality, and defense. Offering hands-free access to information and visual overlays, this technology promises to transform how work is done.
