HOW DO ENGINEERS PERCEIVE THE IMPORTANCE & DEVELOPMENT IMPACT OF THE TOOLS BEING USED?

Research Summary:

VDC’s Embedded Engineer Tool Perceptions and Preferences includes an aggregate and optional segmented modules of statistically-driven data based on detailed Web survey responses from VDC worldwide embedded engineering survey. This end-user data was collected in the late May 2009 through mid-September 2009 timeframe from almost eight hundred embedded systems engineers. This data has not been offered in any VDC published reports and includes embedded engineer perceptions on the importance and impact on the tools, including a high-level tool category and individual tool types, being used on their current development project. Tool segments include software development tools, application lifecycle management (ALM) tools, and EDA/ESL. Tool categories within these segments include but are limited to: bug/issue track; build/production management; dynamic testing tools; project management; requirements management; static analysis tools, and others (For a complete list of tools categories and questions please see the Research Contents section below.)
