Embedded Microprocessor, Board & Systems Analysts

Chris is responsible for syndicated research and consulting engagements focused on embedded software, hardware, and development solutions. He has worked with wide variety of clients supporting a range of projects including competitive analyses, strategic marketing initiative support, ecosystem development strategies, and vertical market opportunity assessments. Chris’s prior research also includes studies on multicore components and tools, operating systems, software development tools, and software/system lifecycle management tools, among others.

Chris holds a B.A. in Business Economics and a B.A. in Public and Private Sector Organization from Brown University.

David has joined VDC’s Embedded Hardware Practice after serving for the last two years as a Senior Analyst / Program Manager in the firm’s Industrial Automation and Controls research practice. David is now responsible for supporting VDC’s market research and custom consulting initiatives relative to emerging global opportunities, regional growth strategies, and market intelligence for embedded hardware, systems components, technologies, services, and related applications across multiple vertical markets.  Prior to joining VDC Research, David accumulated over 30 years of Semiconductor industry experience working at Teradyne Inc. and its worldwide customers. David held multiple positions in support, engineering, IT and management including project and support product management. David earned an MBA degree (Summa cum Laude) from the F. W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College and BS in Electronic Systems Engineering Technology from Wentworth Institute.  David is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute.

Eric has been a lead analyst in VDC’s Embedded Hardware practice for ten years. Prior to joining the firm, he worked in industry for over thirty years, half in the Engineering field and half in Sales and Marketing. He has held Vice-Presidencies and had P&L responsibilities on both sides. Eric has international experience in twenty-three countries, and has been awarded seventeen US Patents. He has a great deal of in-depth technical knowledge in diverse fields, and is a skilled communicator. He has conducted market research in all aspects of Embedded Hardware including Boards, Systems, Processors and MEMS, and developed several of the analysis tools currently in use in the EHW practice. Eric holds a BS in Electrical Engineering and a MS in Management Science and Engineering from WPI, as well as an MBA from Clark University, and has completed several short courses in sales, marketing, mining and patent law.

Prior to joining VDC, Jonathan worked several years in aerospace, including an engineer position at General Electric Aviation.  During that time, he developed knowledge in stress analysis, aerospace design, Six Sigma, and project management.  Jonathan holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Brown University in Providence, RI.  He has completed additional coursework in economics, biology and legal studies.  Jonathan previously worked at VDC in the Industrial Automation practice conducting studies on surge protection and chart recorder technologies.

Bob has a diverse sales, business development and account management background.  His 25+ years of technology-industry experience includes selling mission critical business continuity solutions and consulting services to large enterprise organizations.  He also has extensive channel management experience targeting the small and medium-sized business (SMB) market.  Bob has been involved in delivering solutions for data recovery, managed IT hosting, storage and security.  Before joining VDC, Bob worked for industry giants including SunGard and Hewlett Packard along with smaller regional organizations like Cranel and Winchester Systems.  Bob is a graduate of the University of Hartford with a BS degree in Electronic Engineering.
