Graphic & Web Designer

VDC Research, a technology market research and consulting firm, is seeking a full-time graphic designer and website specialist to support the production department in information design and layout for its research deliverables and updating our website.

You will collaborate with a team of professionals at our Southborough location to design images, charts, and exhibits for market research reports, presentations, proposals, and other electronic collateral. You will also lead the way in maintaining and expanding VDC’s web presence.



Key responsibilities and tasks will include:

  1. Conceptualize, produce, and lay out insightful and informative charts, tables, and other graphics that support our written research

  2. Work with research analysts to provide support and direction on customized projects, including graphics, designs, and illustrations

  3. Organize and maintain department resources including files, templates, style guides, and upgrading relevant company standards when necessary

  4. Assist department leads in the finalization of reports and documents for submission to clients; including formatting, proofing, layout, security, submission, and organization

  5. Compile a library of images and graphics that can be quickly used in future reports and research by analysts around a variety of topics

  6. Maintain and expand VDC’s website, taking into consideration best practices for site navigation and organization

  7. Review VDC’s editorial standards and practices, and recommend changes when applicable

  8. Work closely with all VDC departments including sales, marketing, and analyst teams to update relevant information on website in a timely manner



The ideal candidate should possess the following:

· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent training in graphic design or a related field

· 2-3 years experience in graphic design or a related field

· Strong skills in visually representing concepts and data sets

· Understanding of business and technology concepts to inform best way to visualize important messaging

· Ability to work in a PC environment (no Macs)

· Exceptional attention to detail

· Strong collaborative skills when working with other team members to accurately reflect an idea or design

· Ability to meet tight deadlines and short turnaround times

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Dreamweaver

· Basic to moderate knowledge of HTML

· Passion for learning and contributing to an exciting, deadline driven business

Market Research Intern

VDC Research Group is seeking summer interns looking to pursue careers in technology market research and/or consulting.

Interns will work with teams of seasoned market analysts and participate in data collection and research report creation. Interns will work closely with their mentors to gain an understanding of the day-to-day operations of a leading market research and consulting firm at our Southborough location. This is not a remote internship.



Responsibilities and key tasks may include (but not limited to):

  1. Assist in the creation and execution of market research reports

  2. Conduct secondary research on technologies and vendors

  3. Work with quantitative and qualitative data sets

  4. Write/blog about technology news and trends

  5. Participate in briefings with technology vendors



Ideal candidates will possess the following:

· Candidate of a BA/BS degree

· Strong written and oral business communication skills

· Strong MS Office skills—Excel, Power Point, and Word

· Interest in high-tech

· Survey experience

· Ability to learn fast and take instruction well


This paid internship will begin in June and end in August (exact start and end dates are flexible). Candidates must be able to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the internship at our Southborough MA office. There is a possibility of extending the internship through the fall.
